I came from a small, beautiful country – Armenia.
From a young age I found joy in math, not just solving problems for myself, but in sharing that joy with others. By the time I reached high school, I had become the go-to math helper for my classmates. Math wasn’t just numbers to me, it was a language I loved speaking. Many years have passed. I moved to the USA. I was raising my own children and helping them with math when I found there are so many other kids here too that struggle and are looking for help! That’s when I started my math tutoring classes. I started small, one student at a time, kids from our neighborhood, classmates of my children, working tirelessly to build a program that didn’t just teach math, but helped students develop the skills to tackle any problem with confidence. That’s what I still do today. I work 70 hours each week, helping my students learn, solve, grow, and believe in themselves. It’s hard work, but it’s incredibly rewarding. But I want to reach more people. I want my community to benefit from what I can give, but I can’t do that alone. I have a dream. I want to open my own math school, a place where students could experience the wonder of the numbers the way I did. Place where I can organize fun math games, problem-solving challenges, community events that bring people together. When I go to sleep and close my eyes, I see classrooms filled with eager minds, teachers sharing my passion, and countless children from all backgrounds who know that math isn’t something to fear, but something to embrace. I wake up and I know the day I dream will come. I will make it happen.
